The short version

What we collect, and why

Your workbook

When you upload an .xlsm we store the file so we can parse its VBA project, produce the report, and — if you pay — convert it. It is stored on our server, not shared with any third party, and deleted automatically 72 hours after upload. The VBA source of each module is stored alongside it for the same period and for the same reason, and is deleted with it. A sweep runs every hour, so deletion happens within an hour of that deadline.

If you buy a conversion, the download bundle (the converted code plus a macro-free copy of your spreadsheet) is kept for 14 days, the length of the refund window, so you can download it, and is then deleted automatically.

The report itself is kept at its URL so you can come back to it. It holds your file's name, its sheet and procedure names, the grades, and the short lines of code it quotes as reasons, not the workbook. The report page has a button that deletes it together with the workbook, at once; or write to us and we will delete it.

We do not read your workbook for any purpose other than producing your report and your conversion. It is not used as training data, for any model, ever.

Your email address, if you give one

You do not need one to read your report. If you ask for the downloadable breakdown, we save the address against your report and the file downloads straight away; we do not email it to you. If you buy a conversion, the address goes to Stripe with the checkout, and Stripe may email you its receipt; the conversion itself downloads from your report page. This site sends you no email of its own. The address is not added to a marketing list, because there is no marketing list.

If you ask us for a fixed price

If you ask for a written plan and fixed price for the hand work, we keep the name, email address and note you give, and the plan built from your report (procedure names, grades, our hour estimate and the price), so we can answer you and do the work if you go ahead. We are told about the request by an email sent through Resend, an email delivery service, which carries your name, address, note and the price. We answer from our own mailbox. Your workbook itself is still deleted on the schedule above; if you go ahead we ask you to send it again. Nothing deletes a request automatically; write to us and we delete it.

If you ask for a refund

The refund form saves your report ID, the email address you give, the reason you pick and anything you write, so we can decide and reply. It is kept with the payment records.

Payment details

We never see them. Stripe processes the payment and returns us an identifier for the session, the payment and the charge, plus the email you gave Stripe for the receipt. Stripe's own privacy notice governs what Stripe does with your card data.

Logs and limits

The site is hosted on Railway, which keeps ordinary request logs (IP address, time, request path, browser) for a limited period under its own retention, for security and debugging. The site itself does not log your requests. It holds your IP address in memory for up to an hour to limit how often one address can scan or send a form, and does not write it down. The one exception: when you confirm a Red-item list before paying, we record the timestamp, your IP and your user agent alongside that confirmation, because that record is the evidence of what you were told before you were charged.

Cookies and browser storage

None. The site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser.

Legal basis

Processing your workbook and your email is necessary to perform the service you asked for. Keeping the payment and acknowledgement records is necessary to comply with tax and consumer-protection obligations and to defend against chargebacks.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to [email protected] from the address you gave, or by quoting the report URL you were given. Deletion of an uploaded workbook happens on request immediately (the report page has a button for it, and another that deletes the report as well), and automatically after 72 hours in any case. Records of a completed payment are kept for as long as tax law requires.

Where the data is, and who else handles it

No one else receives your data. Conversions are delivered as a download. The code can also deliver straight into Google Sheets, but that is switched off; if it is switched on, this page will say what Google sign-in stores before it does.

Children

This service is for people working with business spreadsheets. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. If you believe a child has sent us something, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
